All about Ben April-June

Ben still likes pretending to talk on the phone.  He will go on and on like he is really talking, but after “ciao” and “chi è” it just sounds like jibberish to us.  Sometimes he holds the phone to our ear, or Zeus’s ear, so we can talk too.  But, when someone is really on the phone and we put it to his ear, he never says anything.  He also likes doing anything that we do, like being on the computer.

He is expanding his vocabulary every day, in English and Italian.  Some words even get combined, more = ancora, and he uses both, and sometimes even says “amora”, the combination.  He is getting pretty good at colors, can count up to ten in Italian and four in English, and he knows a few letters.  He says “mio” a lot, which means mine.  Sometimes he says “tuo”, which means yours.

Playing with the baby, getting ready for our baby.  He loves her shoes.

Eating an apple, or maybe a pear, but he would call it an apple.
 Berry smoothies.

He still talks about two of his friends at daycare, and we recently found out that they really like buses and airplanes, which could explain Ben’s fascination with them.  His friends are also working on potty-training, which has led to an interest with Ben.  Since the end of May, we sit him on the potty a couple times a day, and sometimes he goes.  Once, he even went #2.  But, with the baby coming, we have decided to take it slow and not officially potty train him right now.

Ben's daycare had a graduation party for the kids that are going off to preschool in the fall.

A playdate with another daycare friend.

He still likes reading, and sometimes even reads to himself.  He also likes noticing when things are the same, like if he sees a photo with mom or dad hanging on the wall, he'll point to the photo and say mama, then point to me and say mama.  He does the same thing with the camera, and likes to look at pictures that we just took.  Also in his books and toys, if he sees a dog in a book, he likes to go get one of his toy dogs and show us that they are both dogs.  He'll say, "Bow-bow... another bow-bow!"
